No matter how many times I review French subject pronouns with my beginning French students, many still struggle to choose the correct one. They have difficulty connecting the person doing the action, or the person or thing being discussed, to the correct subject pronoun.
For example, students may not immediately understand that:
the speaker + another person = we (nous)
speaking about someone or something masculine = he/it (il)
speaking about someone or something feminine = she/it (elle)
That's why I created this French Subject Pronouns Grammar Mini Unit. I knew my students needed something more structured, something that would guide them through the process with clear visuals, explicit examples, and focused practice.
If your beginning French students are facing the same challenges, this mini-unit gives them the step-by-step support they need to understand French subject pronouns and begin using them more accurately.
Complete with editable teaching slides, notes, manipulative puzzles, digital and print practice worksheets, listening with audio and speaking practice, this mini unit has everything you need to teach and reinforce this essential skill today!
